Should I re-side the house or repair the stucco that is already there?
Pull a corner of trim and look at the sheathing behind it. Sound sheathing with cracked stucco is a repair job, not a tear off. We patch, re-lath the failed sections and paint, which takes about a week on a single story house.
How long does a whole house window replacement take?
Two to four days of install on a single story home with 10 to 14 openings. The wait is upstream: special order units run 3 to 6 weeks from the supplier. We do not open a wall until the boxes are on site and counted.
Do impact rated windows lower what I pay for insurance on the coast?
Some carriers give a credit for impact rated glazing, and some do not. That decision belongs to your insurer, so we never promise a number. We give you the product data sheet and the installation paperwork for your agent.
What does a windstorm inspection have to do with new windows and doors?

Why does the stucco crack in the same place every year?
A crack that returns follows movement, not bad mixing. Slab edges, window corners and the joint where an addition meets the original house all move on their own schedule. We cut that crack out, install a control joint or a lath patch, then coat it with elastomeric paint.
When is it too hot to paint a house in the Valley?
Most exterior acrylics list a working range of 50 to 90 degrees on the surface, not in the air. A west wall passes that by late morning in July. So we paint east and north walls early, chase the shade around the house, and stop by early afternoon.
Can you paint brick, and can that ever be undone?
Yes to the first, mostly no to the second. Painted brick stops breathing the way bare brick does, and stripping it later is slow and expensive. Plan on repainting every 7 to 10 years once you start.
