What exactly do you get with a free estimate?
Three things, and all three are yours to keep, whether you hire us or not.
The estimate reaches you within 48 hours of the visit. It arrives in the language you asked for. If a line is unclear, you call David and he explains that line.
- A measured scope of the work, written down, not described over the phone
- A price broken into line items: material, labor, tear out, haul off, and the permit if your city requires one
- A start date, and how many working days the job takes
What happens during the 45 minute visit?
David comes to the house himself. He listens first, because the job you describe and the job you need are often different. Then he measures.
He photographs what matters, including the parts you cannot see from the ground. On a roof that means the decking from the attic. In a kitchen it means what sits behind the cabinets and under the sink.
You do not need to clean the house, and nobody is judging the garage. Forty five minutes covers most homes. A whole home remodel or an addition takes longer.
What gets measured on each kind of job?
Every trade gets measured differently, and what sits underneath matters more than what shows. That is the part a price quoted over the phone skips.
Electrical and plumbing work goes to a licensed trade when the job needs it. Texas licenses those two trades at the state level. If your job touches them, the estimate says who does that part.

Does a free estimate obligate you to anything?
No. There is no fee for the visit, no deposit to get the price, and no charge if you walk away. The written estimate is yours to take to another contractor.
We never ask for the full amount up front. Payments follow the stages of the work, and that schedule is written into the contract before anything starts.
If the number is higher than you expected, say so. Some jobs can be split into phases, and some can change material without changing the result. That conversation happens before you sign, not after.

Is the estimate really free, even far from Rio Grande City?
Yes. The visit and the written price cost nothing in all four counties, from Starr to South Padre Island. Distance shows up in the job price, never as a charge for coming out.
How long does the written estimate take?
Forty eight hours from the visit, in writing, with the work split into line items. If a supplier has to price a special material, David tells you that on site. A number said out loud in the driveway is not an estimate.
Can you match another contractor's price?
We would rather show you what the other price leaves out. Compare line by line: tear out, decking allowance, permits, haul off and cleanup. If the scopes match, tell us and we explain where every dollar goes.
What if I only want a price to plan a project for next year?
That is a normal call, and the answer is still yes. Prices move with material, so every estimate carries the date it was written and how long it holds. David tells you which lines are the ones most likely to move.
