If the stairs are the only way in, can the house still be used while you rebuild them?

Not while the stringers are out, which is usually the middle of the job. If the house has a second stair, we take one at a time and access never closes. If it has only one, we cut and set the new stringers in a single push, so the opening is measured in hours instead of days. We tell you which case you are in when we quote it.

My deck boards look fine but the whole deck moves. What is failing?

Almost always the metal you cannot see. Joist hangers, post bases and ledger fasteners corrode from the inside out in salt air. The boards on top hide all of it. We pull a board and look at the connections before quoting anything. Replacing the surface over failed hardware buys you a season and no more.

Can you screen in the deck on the bay side of my house?

Often yes, and we check the frame first. A screen enclosure adds weight and gives the wind a surface to push on. The footings, the posts and the beam have to be sized for that. We inspect what is there, then tell you whether it gets screened as built or needs reinforcement first.
